About the role
Based at our Newstead, QLD or Paramatta, NSW office the DevOps Engineer will play a pivotal role in making pipeline and application developers lives easier by streamlining the software development lifecycle to improve productivity, delivery speed, and code quality. This will be done by overseeing GIT repos, developing intuitive deployment pipelines, providing platform and infrastructure automation and tooling as needed, and ensuring production environments are secure and highly available.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
Participate and collaborate in a high performing SCRUM delivery team to deliver on BAU activities and key milestones from the Project Roadmap, and Data and Technology strategic plan.
- Demonstrate excellent judgement skills at interpreting business requirements, estimating workloads, prioritizing tasks, and managing time in the delivery of quality solutions to meet deadlines.
- Conduct or facilitate feasibility, requirements gathering, user acceptance, demonstration, or other meetings with team and with customers.
- Provide technical guidance and be a role model to junior engineers.
- Research, design, develop and be accountable for an intuitive, fully automated deployment pipelines using CI/CD, test plans, and pipeline status dashboards.
- Propose and build automation and integration solutions needed to support the data engineering function.

About You
As the ideal candidate you will have a depth of experience in a similar position and have a breath of knowledge with Azure DevOps, GIT, YAML, Terraform and demonstrated experience with PowerShell, JavaScript, Python or similar.
Motivated to contribute to outcomes, you will be an out of the box thinker, who thrives in solving complex technical matters and discussions. Your exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills will see you successfully work with a diverse internal and external group.
To be successful in this role you will possess
- Have 5+ years of experience in similar role
- Hold a degree in Computer Science, IT or similar.
- Demonstrated extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps
- Demonstrated experience with programming patterns: SOLID, GoF, Enterprise Software Architecture, etc
- Demonstrated experience with technical writing: Concept, UML, DFD, BPMN, etc
- Demonstrated experience with compiled languages: C#
- Proven ability to communicate effectively through documentation and technology.
