About the role
The Manager Vehicle Monitoring is responsible for leading a team in the development, implementation, review and continuous improvement of vehicle monitoring regulatory systems, strategies, and business operations to provide the highest level of system and operational integrity and to achieve greater compliance by the heavy vehicle industry. The position is responsible for ensuring adherence to approved system and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Vehicle Monitoring team by applying sound management practices, providing leadership and guidance, developing team capability and providing strategic direction to the team.
- Manage the delivery of heavy vehicle regulatory applications including representing NHVR at a national level to ensure business operations are conducted in accordance with state and national policies and standards.
- Drive and develop the vehicle data analysis strategy, framework, processes and procedures through the identification of trends and behaviours of high-risk customers and high-risk activities to enhance system performance and improve compliance and regulatory outcomes.
- Lead the development and implementation of complex operational policies aligned with organisational priorities through the modelling and analysis of information, state and national policies, customer feedback and the application of best practice principles.
- Develop, manage and deliver the reporting framework to inform network access decisions for heavy vehicles by undertaking data analysis to identify at risk vulnerable infrastructure.
- Ensure a high level of customer focus and stakeholder engagement by providing expert technical advice and by building strong and cooperative relationships with industry
- Provide leadership on vehicle systems and initiatives by identifying and co-ordinating critical strategic issues and innovations within a regulatory framework including preparation of executive level advice, preparing high level briefs, developing operational policies and procedures and leading project teams.
This is a temporary full time opportunity based in Parramatta NSW, for a period of 6 months. There may be a requirement to outside normal working hours or travel on occasion.
About you
With at least 3 – 5 years experience in leading, guiding and managing teams in a compliance based environment and tertiary qualifications in Business, Law or IT, you will also have past experience in the implementation and operations of systems and strategies in a complex government or corporate environment.
You will have
- Strong and contemporary understanding of information security, risk management, governance, financial management, business continuity management and business resiliency issues and threats impacting a large and complex organisation.
- Highly developed analytical, strategic and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to research and analyse complex information and data, identify risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies to drive performance.
- Demonstrated capacity and political acumen to explore options and provide solutions to complex regulatory and technical issues and problems.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects and project teams including multi-disciplinary internal and external stakeholders to meet agreed targets and key performance indicators.
- Maintaining awareness of new trends and developments for heavy vehicle regulatory applications, both in Australia and internationally, emerging in-vehicle technologies.
- Drive performance in a high-volume environment with conflicting priorities, providing quality outputs within strict deadlines and with limited resources.
Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate a team of staff in technical systems and regulatory operations by monitoring performance and developing the capabilities of individuals, coupled with your superior interpersonal skills, will see you thrive in this role.
