Job Summary
Owensboro Community and Technical College invites applications to apply for our part-time / temporary adjunct American Sign Language (ASL) position in the Heritage, Humanities, and Fine Arts Department. This role will provide instruction online and/or in-person, introductory ASL courses, and report to the Department Head of Heritage, Humanities, and Fine Arts.

Job Duties:
• Teach online learner-centered student instruction in undergraduate courses in the discipline. • Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice. • Plan and carry out instructional activities, maintain records and reports on student attainment and progress. • Utilization and care of the subject material within the learning management system – Blackboard Ultra. • Possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, working with a diverse population, and the community and technical college mission. • Keep abreast of changes in the respective field and help keep the program updated. • Participate in professional development activities and training as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in a related field and proof of successful completion of 18 graduate semester hours of ASL courses • Licensure & Certifications: RID (CSC, CDI, CI, CT, NAD IV, NAD V, NIC, CASLI), BEI Advanced, and/or ASLTA certification

Preferred Qualifications:
• A master’s degree in ASL • Teaching experience using the Signing Naturally curriculum • Knowledge of ACTFL, CCIE and ASLTA standards • Experience teaching ASL classes.

Additional Skills Requested:
• Strong MS Office Suites experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) • Strong problem-solving skills. Able to manage various issues and suggest new solutions to supervisor or others in handling unusual problems.
