Job Summary
Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking an experienced candidate for a 2nd shift (2:00pm – 10:00pm) Security Supervisor position in our exciting and fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department. Candidates will be the lead shift officer of campus safety and security for the Downtown and Technical campuses.

Job Duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to: • Provide oversight and supervision of the 2nd shift security officers. • Provide direct support and assistance to the campus community, acting as a first responder to campus emergencies, handling disruptions on campus utilizing conflict resolution practices and contacts first responders as needed. • Performs daily and on-going visual inspection of both internal and external property of college through foot patrols, bike and/or vehicle patrols. Open and secure buildings and rooms as needed to ensure appropriate access to campus areas including restricting access to key facilities or hazardous/dangerous areas. Reports problems or issues observed to supervisor or appropriate department for attention/resolution. • Completes incident, accident and injury reports as needed. Gathers supporting documentation for all reports and relays information to all parties involved while ensuring confidentiality and adhering to FERPA and HIPAA policies and guidelines. • Provides directions and general campus information to the campus community and when requested, provides escort service between cars and worksite as requested by Faculty, Staff and Students. • Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed. • Maintain certification of required departmental, JCTC and KCTCS training. The candidates will receive extensive security related training. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Safety and Security.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School/GED and two years of Security or related work experience (Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military).

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Skills and Attributes: Strong written and verbal skills are necessary. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Window applications is preferred.
