Job Summary
The Director of Advising will oversee the college's academic advising programs and manage a team of advisors (Success Coaches), collaborate with faculty and staff, and develop strategies to enhance student success and retention. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring students receive comprehensive academic guidance to support their educational goals and academic progress.

Job Duties:
Supervise, train and evaluate professional academic advisors and support staff; develop and implement strategies for advising services to ensure alignment with the college's mission, goals and student success objectives; foster a collaborative environment for advisors to share best practices and work together to support student success.
Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of academic advising strategies, including proactive advising, early intervention programs and retention initiatives; ensure that advising services are responsive to the needs of diverse student populations, including first-generation, transfer and non-traditional students; collaborate with faculty and staff to create and maintain accurate degree plans, transfer pathways and advising tools.
Oversee the advising process for new, current and returning students, ensuring students receive personalized academic guidance; provide direct advising support to students with complex academic needs, including academic probation, major exploration and transfer advising; develop workshops, programs, and resources that promote academic success, career development and personal growth.
Develop and maintain data tracking systems to assess advising outcomes, student satisfaction and advising effectiveness; use data and feedback to continuously improve advising practices and student services; prepare regular reports for college leadership and external stakeholders on advising activities, student outcomes and programmatic success.
Partner with academic departments, student services, and other campus units to ensure seamless coordination of student services; represent the college at relevant professional conferences, workshops and advisory meetings related to advising and student success; participate in campus-wide committees and initiatives focused on student engagement, success and retention.
Ensure that advising services comply with all federal, state and institutional regulations and policies; and stay current with acadmic policies, program requirements and relevant higher education trends to provide informed guidance to students and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 2 - 4 years of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Services, Counseling or related field and 2 - 5 years of experience in a related field.

Additional Skills Requested:
Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; Excellent communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and familiarity with advising software, student information systems and related technologies.
