Job Summary
Big Sandy Community & Technical is currently hiring a part-time tutor. The primary purpose of this position is to aid students in reaching their educational goals by providing homework assistance (tutoring), whether through direct one-on-one, group,/or online tutoring, and directing students to other resources if needed. For this position, it is necessary to have a high level of technology skills.

Job Duties:
• Aid patrons with homework and supplemental instruction for all courses taught by BSCTC. • Tutor math individually and in groups (walk-ins, appointments, and/or online). • Proof papers per student request (walk-ins, appointment, and/or online). • Collaborate with tutors located on other campuses to ensure coverage of the online tutoring requests. • Provide coverage for the library circulation desk as necessary • Prepare the Library & Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) for opening/Closing. • Assist potential students with the BSCTC online application process and assist current students/patrons with email, self-service, Blackboard, document processing, and lab-supported hardware/software • Collaborate with teaching faculty and visit classrooms upon request to discuss the resources of the library/ACE • Promote the resources of the Library/ACE to students at various functions such as: ECA New Student Orientations, Ready-to-Work, and Work and Learn Programs • Conduct tours of the library/ACE for new and/or potential students, discussing with them the services both departments have to offer and the importance of taking advantage of those services.
Working collaboratively with library staff in covering library circulation duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree Courses in areas being tutored required a grade of an A or B. Official transcripts must be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
