Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Culinary Arts Instructor to join our Culinary Arts program. This role involves teaching culinary classes, overseeing catering events, and supporting students in their learning and development.

Job Duties:

Proficient in a range of culinary techniques, including knife skills, food preparation, cooking methods, presentation, and catering events.
Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and industry best practices.
The instructor will work closely with the Culinary Arts Coordinator and Division Dean to carry out assigned duties and ensure smooth operation of program activities.
Day and evening classes are available.
Other duties include but are not limited to:
• academic advising
• course and curriculum development
• institutional service
• community service
• leadership
• professional development
• lesson planning
• utilizing college technology (email, Blackboard, Student Self Service (Peoplesoft))
• maintaining regular office hours,
• completion of all required reporting (learning outcomes assessment and reporting, instructor surveys, no-shows, grades, etc.)
• recruiting new students which will include working with high schools and could include cooking Demo

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree (AAS) in Culinary Arts or equivalent, and at least 5 years working in the industry with catering experience  

Preferred Qualifications:

Serv Safe Certified

Physical Requirements:
Moderate: Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions – often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
