Job Summary

The Admissions Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a Processing & Communication Specialist.

Job Duties:

• Assist with advanced processing function and training including admissions applications, high school transcripts, visiting student letters, college transcripts and other incoming documentation.
• Communicate daily with applicants through mail, email, telephone, and in-person regarding admissions requirements and outstanding items.
• Assist with reviewing CPE error reports and internal auditing as needed.
• Assist in maintenance of all departmental communications including email, postcards, and website content.
• Complete weekly acceptance postcard process to notify students of their status.
• Assist with tasks such as researching and resolving tickets escalated by the student services center and running queries.
• Assist with hiring, training, and supervision of student workers.
• Serve on a Selective Admissions Committee annually to help with the admissions process.
• Assist the Admissions team with special events, high school visits, and express enrollment as needed.
• Serve as backup to the front desk and Southwest Campus admissions coverage as needed.
• Other duties to support the department may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

An associate’s degree and three years related experience, or equivalent are required.   

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience. Preference will be given to individuals with a background in
customer service and written communication.
Some travel may be required.

Occasional and /or light lifting – limited exposure to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
