Job Summary

The Accountant I position is designed to be an entry level position with the Sponsored Projects Accounting team, one that will receive ongoing training in the duties and tasks of the department so that they might grow in knowledge and responsibilities. On a day-to-day basis, this role will handle a majority of the data entry and archiving related to Trains and other grants/contracts overseen by the department.

Positions with the KCTCS System Office located in Versailles, KY are term-contract positions, with the expectancy of continuance based on performance.

KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time.

Job Duties:

Handle the Trains data entry, setup and close out of accounts.

Close out and set up new grants.

Document and input all budget amendments.

Handles all archiving and scanning for department as well as SPA intranet site updates.

Assist in audit reviews.

Learn other roles of the department and serve as backup when needed as well as all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree and two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
