Job Summary
The Electrical Systems Instructor will deliver non-credit instruction on-site at local manufacturing and industrial employer locations, or in campus-based labs as needed. This position is ideal for industry professionals with a strong electrical background who enjoy mentoring and teaching adults as needed basis.

Job Duties:
- Teach foundational and intermediate topics in industrial electricity, including:
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic
- AC/DC electrical theory: circuits, voltage, current, resistance, Ohm’s Law, and power calculations
- Power supplies and distribution systems
- Electrical test instruments: multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers
- Electrical safety practices including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and arc flash awareness
- Motor controls and drive systems: contactors, overloads, and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Deliver content using hands-on demonstrations, simulation panels, and real-world troubleshooting scenarios
- Reinforce safe work practices in all aspects of instruction
- Prepare and maintain instructional materials and equipment
- Communicate with Workforce Solutions team, employer partners, and learners about training logistics and expectations
- Support learners with informal assessments, real-time feedback, and coaching

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of recent hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, industrial electrical systems, or a related role
- Strong working knowledge of electrical schematics, control circuits, and safety standards
- Ability to travel to employer sites within the NKY region
- Experience working with or training adult learners
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10/30 certification or NFPA 70E training
- Prior teaching, coaching, or technical training experience
- High attention to detail and safety
- Self-directed, dependable, and professional

Additional Skills Requested:
- Ability to communicate effectively with Workforce staff, employer partners, and students
- Skilled in offering informal assessments, feedback, and coaching to learners
