Job Summary

Do you have a passion for teaching and shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals? We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Instructor to join our team!

Job Duties:

• Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice of Medical Laboratory Technician Program. Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities, and prepares learning materials for special studies. Prepares lesson plans, instructional activities, and maintains records and reports on student learning. SKYCTC is a member of a consortium with West Kentucky Community and Technical College and Gateway Community and Technical College. This position will provide instruction to students in all 3 colleges.
• Serve as site clinical coordinator for SKYCTC.
• Participate in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and expertise, student advising, follow-up services to assist in student placement, and recruitment of new students for program area. Serves on college committees as required, keeps regular posted office hours, and undertakes other assignments as directed by supervisor.
• Position requires teaching 16-24 contact hours per week. May be required to teach evening hours, or at other campus locations as the need arises.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, holds ASCP-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist. All applicants must meet the licensure requirements of the occupation. Must possess excellent organizational, customer service, and public speaking skills as well as be current with technology and computer skills.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous teaching experience, especially teaching online courses.
