Job Summary

Somerset Community College invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty member for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Because the program operates in a hybrid format and students attend courses at both the Laurel Campus and the Russell Center, adjunct faculty are needed at both locations.

Job Duties:

Adjunct faculty support student learning and success in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program by providing didactic and/or laboratory instruction, depending on the assigned course. Responsibilities may include preparing course materials, delivering instruction, assessing student learning, maintaining required records and reports, supporting accreditation compliance, and contributing to ongoing program improvement.

• Provide didactic and/or laboratory instruction in assigned DMS Courses:

• Develop, organize, and update course materials to reflect current clinical practice and standards;

• Assess student learning using appropriate evaluation methods;

• Assist in maintaining compliance with accreditation standards;

• Support recruitment, retention, and student success initiatives;

• Perform other program duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree from an accredited university or college;

• Credentialed sonographer in the appropriate specialty area(s): RDMS or ARRT(S) credentialed (Abdomen/Obstetrics Gynecology);

• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography;

• Demonstrated knowledge of current sonography practices and standards;

• Effective communication, organizational, and instructional skills.


 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university or college in a relevant field;

• Prior teaching or clinical instruction experience;

• Experience coordinating clinical education or working with student placements.
