NSU’s Center for Materials Research invites applicants for a grant-funded Postdoc/Lab Manager position,
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
1. Scientific research in the areas of (nano)photonics and (nano)photonics materials.
2. Training students to conduct research and assisting them with their research projects.
3. Equipment and lab maintenance, small-scale equipment repair, software installation, and communication with service engineers.
4. Purchase of equipment and supplies and communicating with vendors.
5. Writing technical reports and peer-reviewed publications.
6. Overseeing the lab safety.
*This is a grant-funded position, continued employment contingent upon the availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Candidate must possess a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
2. Candidate should have knowledge and experience in research areas of (nano)photonics and (nano)photonic materials.
3. In particular, the applicant should have knowledge in (i) fabrication (such as thin film deposition), (ii) experiment (such an optical characterization and laser spectroscopy) and (iii) theoretical modeling (such as analytical modeling, usage of commercially available software packages, e.g. COMSOL, and written computer codes).
4. The applicant’s competency in research should be evidenced by peer-reviewed scientific publications and conference presentations.
5. The applicant should have knowledge in computers, have hands-on technical experience, and equipment maintenance skills.
6. The applicant should have good communication skills and be able to constructively communicate with students, colleagues and third parties.
