Job Duties
The Biology Department at the Virginia Military Institute invites applications for a non-tenure track position at the lecturer/instructor level for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a full-time position with an expectation of teaching primarily Core Curriculum, non-major biology courses. Teaching load is up to three courses with laboratories per semester, with the possibility of some advising duties. The successful candidate will serve under a one-to-three-year, renewable contract, depending on experience. Full-time faculty at VMI wear uniforms and adhere to military customs and courtesies during the academic year, but military experience is not required. VMI is a small, highly rated undergraduate institution with a strong emphasis on teaching and undergraduate research.
All courses will be taught in person.

Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree or equivalent in the biological sciences and teaching experience at the college level.

The official title will be instructor or lecturer depending on the level of degree.
