Norfolk State University’s Department of Sociology, seeks Adjunct faculty for the August 2024 academic year to teach Sociology and/or Criminal Justice courses. The selected adjunct professors will teach at the undergraduate level and conduct office hours to support their
courses.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possess a Masters of Arts or Science degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or in a similar discipline, with 18 graduate credits in the field.
- Possesses considerable knowledge of and skill in areas of specialization in a discipline, as highlighted above.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to a diverse student-body audience, both verbally and in writing, with emphasis applied to a commitment to diversity.
- Demonstrated ability to grasp and advocate an institution teaching and learning philosophy, preferably in an institution of higher education.
- Proficiency in or commitment to attaining distance learning certification at NSU.
- Teaching experience, at a college or university is strongly preferred.
