Job Duties
To provide services which ensure a fair, equitable and quality working and learning environment for all employees and members of the university community; to proactively and creatively provide all customers with superior, innovation, and cost-effective programs and services; to continuously seek and supply all customers with the opportunities and resources needed to enhance their knowledge, skills and abilities so they may better support the mission of the university.
To enhance the student experience by fostering learning, increasing awareness of and opportunities to engage the University community in recreational, health and wellness activities, and enhances the overall student experience beyond the classroom. Assists the Office of Student Activities and Leadership in program planning and implementation and daily operations of facilities management, risk management, customer service, and creating and promoting fitness and recreational programs including but not limited to: Intramural Sports, eSports, group exercise programs, and recreational facility operations in the Dance Studio, Bowling Alley, Fitness Center, and Game-room.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of management practices.
2. Demonstrated experience successfully developing and maintaining health and wellness programs.
3. Familiarity with eSports programming.
4. Excellent communication skills, oral and written, and ability to negotiate conflict; strong written and verbal skills.
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, faculty, staff, and students.
6. Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
7. Possess excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills; strong leadership, creative, and problem-solving skills; excellent organizational skills.
8. Strong commitment to diversity and developing a comprehensive understanding of the needs of diverse student and user groups.
9. American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification; Instructor Certification preferred.
10. At least one national certification in fitness, such as ACE, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
1. Certification in eSports or equivalent combination of education and work experience which can include multiplayer online gaming experience, preferably at a competitive or collegiate level is strongly preferred.
2. Prior experience working with students including those with vision, hearing, and physical disabilities also strongly preferred.
