Job Duties
The assistant softball coach for Norfolk State University will assist with the following: recruiting qualified NCAA Division I academically sound and competitive student-athletes; hitting and outfield player development; scheduling; organizing and arranging team travel plans; overseeing and promoting compliance of NCAA rules among staff, student-athletes and representatives of athletic interest; and managing budget assigned funds. Other tasks include but are not limited to various fundraising and community outreach activities; winter clinics and summer camp administration; game field preparations and overall player development.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree; demonstrated successful coaching experience in collegiate softball on a Division I level. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; excellent oral and written communications skills; strong organizational skills; the ability to work independently or in a team setting; and a successful criminal background check is required.
