Job Duties
The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Virginia Military Institute invites
applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of French. This is a full-time, in-person, three-year
position beginning 1 January 2025 or 1 August 2025. Responsibilities include teaching all levels
of French (4-4) and working in one other domain such as scholarship or advising.
Virginia Military Institute is a state-supported undergraduate miliary college of Engineering, the
Sciences, and the Humanities, situated in the Shenandoah Valley. More information about VMI

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in French Studies (ABD may be considered), and a native
or near-native fluency in French and English. Specialization is open. Military experience is not
required.
