Monday-Friday day shift with very few night/weekend hours.

Crater Health District is a part of the Virginia Department of Health. Crater Health District comprises the Cities of Hopewell, Emporia and Petersburg, as well as the Counties of Sussex, Greensville, Surry, Prince George and Dinwiddie. Will travel within district.

Provides non-supervisory leadership and serves as coordinator for Crater Health District Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program and Title X Family Planning Grant. Develops program goals, objectives, policies and procedures, reports program performance to funding sources and agency staff, serves as primary contact for staff and external inquirers about the program/service, monitors service delivery for compliance to applicable policies and procedures, and promotes the program to increase utilization and public awareness. Performs nursing assessments, may perform lab tests, take measurements, develop, and implement care plans, including the administration of medication and case management. May supervise support staff. Actions require licensure as a RN by state code.

VDH requires all Health-Care Personnel (HCP) to provide documentation of immunization or evidence of immunity to the following: hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella; a one-time dose of tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) vaccine regardless of the interval since the last dose of tetanus-diphtheria (Td) vaccine was administered (Td or Tdap boosters shall be received every 10 years); and the current year's seasonal influenza vaccination.

Requires licensure as an RN in Virginia. Must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR, able to be fit tested and perform fit testing for other staff in accordance with OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134) [Ref.2] regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires licensure as an RN in Virginia and must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR
• Experience functioning in a leadership role
• Ability to work independently in various settings (home, clinic, community, school) and manage tasks effectively
• Strong communication and assessment skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)
• Experience with data entry, analysis, and reporting
• Demonstrated experience working with teenagers
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a healthcare team
• Proficiency in using computers and applications (e.g., Internet, Microsoft Office, Google Mail)
• Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Strong decision-making, teaching, interviewing, and counseling skills
• Experience educating about communicable diseases
