Job Duties

This position will provide the dispositions deputy clerks with support for the preparation and release of opinions and orders of the Court. This position will also draft general office memoranda and correspondence. This position will input case decision information on the Court’s case management system. This position will be responsible for posting the Court’s opinions on the Court’s website.

Some telework may be allowed at the discretion of the Clerk of Court.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Provides support for preparation of the Court’s dispositional orders.

· Provides support for the preparation of the Court’s opinions.

· Drafts general office memoranda and correspondence using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

· Receives and transmits word processor files using a network bulletin board.

· Posts the Court’s opinions on the Court’s website.

· Prints and distributes opinions and orders to litigants, trial courts, and others in digital and paper formats.

· Enters data in the Court’s case management system.

· Monitors the dispositions email system.

· Maintains the Court’s index of unpublished opinions with summaries for the Court’s index.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the clerk.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be a high school graduate or possess the equivalent degree, provide references, work well with colleagues and the public, and be reliable, organized, and conscientious. Applicants must demonstrate advanced word processing experience, a history of prompt and accurate completion of assignments, experience dealing with a high volume of work, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Additional Considerations

The most competitive candidates will have at least two years of experience in a law office or court setting.
