IT Inventory Control Coord. is responsible for the inventory control in TSD. This is a professional technical position. IT Inventory Control Coord. provides and manages enterprise operational services and infrastructure through the coordination of IT Hardware, Software and Telecom services vital to day-to-day operations. Evaluates and examines services and asset deployments for compliance with given standards performing occasional audits to maintain overall enterprise efficiency.


IT Inventory Control Coord. also serves as the hub of IT procurement for the agency as well as subject matter expert and participant in nearly all infrastructure, hardware and telecom initiatives contrived as the needs of the agency transform. This position regularly provides level 2 and 3 desktop, Telco and LAN/WAN support at headquarters and other offices as needed and further acts as point of contact for service failure and escalation issues for DSS Users, VIP, and Executive Level staff to bring about resolution in a timely manner


IT Inventory Control Coord. reports to the IT Business Admin Manger and will provide direct support to the agency personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience with Microsoft family of productivity tools, i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, VISIO, and MS Project.
• Prior experience with Inventory Control.
• Excellent written and communication skills exhibiting the ability to interact professionally with all levels

KSA’s and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
1. TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE - Strong organizational, analytical, and accounting skills. Solid experience refining and implementing new processes, procedures, and software tools. Technical and functional understanding of computer networking. Technical and functional understanding of asset management concepts and practices. Knowledge of DGS property control practices and procedures. Knowledge of Commonwealth procurement laws, regulations, and procedures; Understanding the techniques and requirements of contract administration and ability to make decisions based on logical analysis of information.

2. UNDERSTANDING THE BUSINESS - Understanding of VDSS business mission; knowledgeable of VDSS policies and capable of discerning how decisions impact agency goals and objectives. Knowledge of VITA/SAIC partnership and connected vendors.

3. RESULTS FOCUSED - Ability to forecast organizational requirements based on complex, changing factors including: useful equipment lifecycle based on type of equipment; organizational growth; customer and tenant base; and requests from end-users, Service Managers, and IT management.

4. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Marked by excellence in customer service, provides helpful, expert assistance in a timely and professional manner for IT goods and services within the positions purview as well as provide direction for assistance handled by other commonwealth support teams.

5. TEAMWORK - Collaborates and conducts business professionally within multi-talented teams and varied customers (managers, coworkers, VITA/NG, vendors). Engages in frequent/daily contact with Home Office, Local Office, and regional office staff to assess IT hardware, software and telecommunication needs.

6. INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION - Excellent interpersonal skills exhibiting the ability to interact professionally with all levels of DSS staff and the flexibility to work in an innovative, customer service driven, multi-tasking environment.

7. LEADERSHIP - Skilled in leading work efforts, assigning tasks and balancing priorities of workload.

Additional Considerations

• Prior experience in the field of computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with eVA procurement system.
• Able to conduct business professionally with varied customers (managers, coworkers, VITA, SAIC, vendors).
