Job Duties

Supports the Training Director in providing oversight and management of the human resource development (HRD) function for all Department of Corrections employees, ensuring that all state, federal and departmental training mandates/requirements are efficiently and effectively met and that the training and development program meets the needs of the organization and the employees, and is aligned with the Department’s Strategic Goals and Objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of human resource development concepts including: principles of adult learning, various training processes (training needs assessment, curriculum/program development, training delivery methodologies, program evaluation). Knowledge of correctional systems, processes and practice. Ability to manage a 200 bed, full service training center and two off-site academies. High School Diploma.

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge of state, national and local criminal justice, human services, or other state agencies. Knowledge, coursework, or training of technology related to learning. An understanding of organizational structure and dynamics including planning, communication models, policy/procedure development, budget development and fiscal administration, and project management.
