Job Duties

The Commonwealth’s Attorneys’ Services Council (CASC), the executive branch state agency responsible for providing training and services to Virginia’s prosecutors, is seeking interested applicants for the position of Administrator. The Administrator is the agency head, appointed by Council with the concurrence of the Governor of Virginia, and serves under the supervision and at the pleasure of Council.

Key responsibilities include coordinating training, education and services for Virginia’s prosecutors; leading and supervising staff of 7 employees; administering a budget; identifying, pursuing and obtaining necessary additional funding from alternative sources such as federal and state grants; handling legislative affairs; composing meeting agendas and reports; conducting legal research and drafting memoranda; serving as liaison to the Secretary of Public Safety & Homeland Security; and ensuring CASC’s compliance with state and federal statutes, regulations, policies, procedures and reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires Virginia State Bar membership, or the ability to waive into Virginia, prosecution- related experience, and excellent writing skills.

Additional Considerations

Experience with providing professional training and familiarity with the legislative process are significant pluses.
