About the Position:

The Virginia State Police is seeking to hire a Program Support Technician Dispatcher Senior in our Criminal Justice Information Services Division at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will perform data entry of Court Disposition Reporting Forms (SP-222s) and Notification of Involuntary Admission, Mental Incapacity, Mental Incompetence, and Temporary Detention Order (TDO) with Voluntary Admission Forms (SP-237); ensure treatment orders include required signatures; match faxed/mailed records using a tickler file; establish and update mental health records; automate non-computerized criminal history records; archive source documentation; and participate in special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

•Working knowledge of office practices and procedures and general recordkeeping.
•Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications and other automated office equipment.
•Demonstrated ability to research questionable data by applying established procedures; to archive data and records; to generate required correspondence; to work independently and as a member of a team; to follow oral and written instructions and pay close attention to detail; to effectively communicate in English orally and in writing with individuals at various law enforcement agencies, judicial staff, and the general public; and to respond professionally and efficiently to incoming telephone calls.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
•Must be eligible to become Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certified which requires either United States citizenship or a lawful permanent resident of the United States and eligible for naturalization.

Additional Considerations

•Experience in reviewing criminal history records and legal documents for discrepancies preferred.
