Job Duties

To provide management of the daily operations of Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Grants, Accounting and Fixed Asset Accounting by managing internal controls to mitigate risk; ensuring that the official financial records of the University is current and accurate; safeguarding University assets to minimize risk of financial loss; and developing and maintaining reporting tools and guidelines to provide high-quality financial information that supports the University’s mission, strategic management initiatives, and leadership vision. The position performs reconciliations, prepares standard monthly reports, assists in the preparation of the annual financial reports/studies and the University’s annual financial statements. Assists in the Auditor of Public Accounts’ annual audit process.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to interpret GAAP as they apply to colleges and universities. Ability to meet and prioritize competing deadlines. Ability to Manage two separates but interrelated complex automated accounting systems. Proficiency in technology used in financial operations. Proficient in the use of standard office software applications, spreadsheets, and databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
