Job Duties
The Supervising Deputy Clerk (Grade 10) is assigned supervisory operational responsibilities for the clerk’s office. This individual directs or personally handles operational activities required for efficient caseload processing in one or more of the following areas: records management, cash processing, and service to the public. The Supervising Deputy Clerk is required to plan, schedule, and monitor these activities to coincide with the overall needs of the court, other criminal justice agencies, and the public. Ensures court’s instructions are executed and that legal papers are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with appropriates policies and procedures.
This position requires candidates to demonstrate effective leadership, sound management principles, training skills, excel in promoting customer service, show initiative and problem solving, as well as being experienced in records management systems/software applications. Duties include preparing correspondence and detailed court documents, entering data into an automated Case Management System, scheduling matters for court, preparing correspondence, assessing fines and costs, filing court documents. A high degree of tact and diplomacy is needed for customer interaction in person and by phone.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. Most competitive applicants will have knowledge of the court/criminal justice’s system. Applicants should be highly organized and possess significant knowledge, skills and abilities in personnel management, time management, and performance management. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and advance knowledge of office automation systems and computer software required. Must follow through on task and like working in a fast-paced office. We are looking for a team player who assists others and who promotes a positive office environment.
Additional Considerations
This is an exempt position and is ineligible for additional compensation if working more than 40 hours in any week. Applicants must apply online. Criminal record check is required.
