Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Office of Process Improvement, seeks a highly motivated and innovative leader to direct the Division of Process Improvement and Data Applications (PIDA). This role will focus on leveraging technologies and system enhancements to optimize DEQ's operational processes through: the automation of manual workflows and tasks enhancing efficiency and consistency in regulatory program implementation; working closely with DEQ's leadership teams to prioritize and implement technology upgrades that support both process automation and broader strategic goals; and, leading efforts to improve data management practices, ensuring business data is accurate, organized, accessible, and secure through automated classification and validation processes
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of DEQ Leadership and Management Competencies: comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with statues, regulations, policies; knowledge of or experience working in environmental science field; experience in process improvement and streamlining processes for operational efficiency; demonstrated ability to collaborate and develop and meet clear project goals and deliverables; demonstrated experience with databases, IT development projects, requirements gathering; personnel management; and, demonstrate self-awareness, develops others, thinks strategically, and cultivates work relationships.
