Job Duties

1. Teach on-campus undergraduate courses in African American History.
2. Engage in exemplary face-to-face and use the university’s learning management system
(Blackboard).
3. Collegially engage with students, staff, and other faculty members.
4. Meet university deadlines for submitting grades and other reports.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Must possess a Master’s or PH.D. degree in History with a concentration in African
American History.
2. Demonstrate a strong potential to effectively teach African American History.
3. Demonstrate potential to effectively use a learning management system (Blackboard
Ultra or similar).
4. Demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching.
5. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, personal integrity, and a
demonstrated commitment to diversity.

Additional Considerations

1. Experience teaching African American History in higher education.
2. Possess a PhD in History with extensive graduate coursework in African American
History.
