Job Duties

The Department of Human Resource Management’s Office of Workforce Engagement (OWE) is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of CVC & VSEAF Program Assistant. The Office of Workforce Engagement is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive statewide program for the Commonwealth that leverages opportunities to enrich and improve the acquisition and engagement of a high-performing and diversified workforce. We seek to expand opportunities to drive passion and engagement in the workforce through the fostering of a healthy, well-equipped, and productive work environment for employees, their families, departments, community partners, and the public, to maximize individual potential. We do this by directing the development of strategies and practices that cultivate a culture of charitable giving and positive social responsibility, and employee engagement and recognition. The purpose of this position is to assist the Engagement unit with day-to-day administrative duties associated with the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) and Virginia State Employee Assistance Fund (VSEAF). This position will also manage social media to assist the CVC with marketing of the annual campaign and VSEAF. From this position, the candidate will gain an opportunity to learn about non-profit management, business acumen, presentation skills, and marketing. This position will be a hybrid position with opportunities to engage with internal and external partners in office and virtually.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in program coordination; Experience in event planning and public speaking; Experience in implementing marketing strategies and communication plans; Experience in composing, editing, and publishing communication products for diverse audiences; and creating and implementing communication plans, and awareness campaigns; Experience with social media strategy and the ability to manage social media pages; Ability to help maintain excellent relationships with partners such as charitable community, state agencies, volunteers, non-profit board members, and donors; Ability to help maintain a communication network with charities and coordinators; Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Excellent oral and written communication skills and Ability to conduct basic research for organizational benchmarking, data entry, and trends. High School Graduate or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

Experience with non-profit management. Experience with overall program management.
