Job Duties
Provides administrative and programmatic support to the Inmate Records Department in support of the unit and agency mission.
Updates and maintains records, files and automated databases.
Maintains institutional Inmate records in compliance with IOP’s and institutional protocols.
Prepares copies of relevant documentation, maintains files, emails documentation and answers telephone calls.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to research and analyze data in order to reach logical conclusions and prepare routine reports.
Experience providing customer service and administrative support to include word processing, filing and other related duties in a professional office setting. Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information in a courteous manner.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal documents and release/discharge documents.
Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel to accomplish office support requirements. Demonstrated skill in inputting data into an automated database other than Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately.
Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain automated and manual filing systems. Working knowledge of policies and procedures related to inmate records maintenance and processes. Demonstrated ability to create spreadsheets to track data.
Additional Considerations
Administrative experience in a criminal justice, court, or law office setting.
Knowledge in office administration or equivalent training or experience in a related field. Background in record keeping. Experience using CORIS.
