Job Duties

The Department of General Services, Office of Parking and Badging Services manages parking building access for tenant-agencies’, state employees, and contractors who are working in a DGS owned and managed buildings at the seat of government. This division supports the day-to-day parking operations and provides state employees and contractors IDs and building access to DGS owned facilities located at the Seat of Government and a few outlying facilities.

The Office of Parking and Badging Services is seeking an Assistant Security Technician with working knowledge and experience in maintaining security systems hardware and software for supporting the access controls and security camera system for multiple facilities at the Capitol Square Complex. The desired candidate possesses working knowledge of electronics theory, including troubleshooting, test procedures, circuit analysis and repair of electronic surveillance and locking equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge, skills, and ability in servicing and maintaining electronic security systems.

Knowledge in servicing and maintaining access control systems, camera systems, intrusion detection systems, intercom systems, emergency call boxes, and access controlled key boxes.

Skilled in repairing and replacing: complex electronic equipment, electronic locking hardware, ADA operator access control integration, and parking deck access control equipment.

Experience performing emergency maintenance, prioritize work, and understanding system supporting software, wiring diagrams, electronic security plans, and testing devices.

Valid Virginia Driver’s License required

Additional Considerations

Knowledge in building security access control systems/software and devices.

Knowledge and experience in repair maintenance of parking access control equipment.
