Job Duties
Position is responsible for maintaining an effective and efficient institutional warehouse operation ensuring an adequate inventory level of approved items in compliance with DOC and institutional policy and procedure. Ensures all goods and materials are properly received, properly documented, stored and/or distributed in compliance with all safety and sanitation requirements. Maintains a perpetual inventory system. Assist with the physical inventory of warehouse items. Maintains safety and security and sanitation of warehouse operation. Ensures all staff and inmate workers are properly trained, supervised and monitored.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver’s License. Knowledge of warehousing operations, procedures, shipping and receiving. Capable of operating electric pallet jacks, reach trucks and fork lifts. Experience with OSHA compliance and handling hazardous materials. Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow oral and written rules and regulations; to maintain harmonious working and public relations; to learn new practices, procedures and equipment operations. Demonstrated ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimal guidance from others; to understand and apply operating procedures. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel. Ability to operate a Forklift and/or tractor. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
Additional Considerations
Forklift Operator Certification. Training and/or experience in warehouse operations. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs. Experience with data entry on automated inventory management systems.
