Job Duties
To provide fiscal support to accurately and efficiently record and balance all financial activities; to ensure proper case management procedures are followed; to review, analyze, and process a range of data and reports in accordance with Department of Corrections (DOC) and Department of Accounts (DOA) policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting and procurement principles and practices; ability to perform accurate detailed work with detailed numerical data, mathematical calculations, and financial reports. Recent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; recent working knowledge of office procedures, computers, calculators, copiers, and office machines. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing; demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines and to work independently.
Additional Considerations
Advance knowledge of Electronic Virginia (eVA), Cardinal and Corrections Information System (CORIS) Inmate Trust. Prefer some basic bookkeeping/accounting courses and recent experience related to the position’s duties or an equivalent combination of both.
