Job Duties

Catawba Hospital a full-time position available for an experienced LPN interested in working with adult and/or geriatric patients with mental illnesses. Must possess clinical knowledge of principles and practices of practical nursing, medication administration, psychiatric disorders and developmental processes. Ability to implement planned nursing care and provide guidance to other staff. Selected applicant will work evenings and will be eligible for evening shift differential. Sign on bonus eligible.

A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the finalist candidates for this position under VA Code 2.2-1201.1.

Minimum Qualifications

Practical Nursing Licensure or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Clinical knowledge of principles and practices of practical nursing, medication administration, psychiatric disorders and developmental processes. Ability to implement planned nursing care and provides guidance to other staff. Demonstrate competence as defined on Competency Assessment.

Additional Considerations

Previous work experience in a geriatric and/or psychiatric work environment is desirable
Long-term care experience with geriatric population is desirable
Experience in supervising CNAs
Experience working with Electronic Health Records is preferred
