Virginia Energy is in search of a dynamic professional to serve as Investments Lead for the Virginia Clean Energy Innovation Bank (VCEIB). The incumbent in this role will assist in managing the program’s investment portfolio under the Director of the VCEIB. Key responsibilities include identifying and sourcing investment opportunities, supporting the transaction process (such as managing due diligence, performing financial modeling and analysis, structuring deals, preparing investment memos, and more), and assisting in managing the bank’s investment portfolio. Additional duties include developing policies and procedures, fostering partnerships with public and private capital providers, promoting VCEIB at events and conferences, and coordinating with stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the bank’s mission to mobilize both public and private capital to drive the expansion of clean energy generation, innovation and energy infrastructure across Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications
- Professional experience in banking or investment, ideally with a focus on the energy sector
- Demonstrated experience in initiating, managing, negotiating, and finalizing financial transactions
- Working knowledge of credit risk assessment and underwriting processes
- Experience performing financial modeling and conducting thorough due diligence to evaluate potential investment opportunities
- Familiarity with relevant private-sector financial institutions, including commercial and regional banks; infrastructure funds; and private equity/venture capital firms
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively engaging diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to help manage stakeholder review processes
- Proven capability to compile, evaluate, and create reports on complex financial information
- Ability to work with Agency management to communicate and present plans, budgets and recommendations effectively
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet constant deadlines
- Ability to apply computer skills in Windows, and network environments with specialized software
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel frequently

Strong background in energy finance is highly desirable
