Key Responsibilities:
Benefits & Leave Administration - Guide employees through Commonwealth leave programs and benefits, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., health insurance, VA Disability Program (VSDP), workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA).
Performance Management - Provide consultation and resources to managers, ensuring effective goal setting, coaching, and performance feedback processes.
Employee Relations & Experience - Advise leaders on HR policies and best practices, support employee relations matters, and conduct investigations as needed. Promote an engaging and productive work environment and mitigate potential risks.
Employee Training - Deliver engaging orientation sessions and develop strategic training programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
Employee Wellness & Engagement Programs - As CommonHealth Coordinator, spearhead wellness initiatives, mental health resources, and engagement strategies to support employee well-being.

Minimum Qualifications

•Working knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management and applicable federal and state laws and regulations surrounding benefits administration, leave program administration, performance management, employee relations, employee wellness programs, employee engagement, new hire onboarding, HR training, and processing personnel transactions.


•Extensive working experience administering human resource related programs to include benefits administration, leave program administration, performance management, employee relations, employee wellness programs, employee engagement strategies, new hire onboarding, and processing personnel transactions.


•Substantial experience using a computer and HR Information System (HRIS) systems. (Ex. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Cardinal, Recruitment Management System, PageUp, etc.


•Skilled at communicating confidential information effectively both orally and in writing with clients and stakeholders using a variety of methods. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.


•Considerable working experience editing, reading, and interpreting agency, federal, and state HR policies and procedures.


•Demonstrated ability to analyze and manipulate data, to reach conclusions which are logical and legally supportable; analyze and implement policies, procedures, and programs; ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.

Additional Considerations

Working experience in recruitment and selection is desirable.

Experience working with payroll services (Ex, Dept Of Accounts Payroll Services Bureau) is desirable.

PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP Certification is desirable.
