Job Duties

Facilities & Game Day Operations

• Assist with game-day and event operations, including venue setup and breakdown.
• Work closely with coaches, support staff, and administrators to ensure facility needs are met.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of facilities, ensuring a safe environment for teams and staff.
• Assist in the planning and budgeting of facility enhancements, capital projects and equipment purchases.
• Identify areas for improvement in event operations and implement best practices.
• Make recommendations for preventative maintenance and operational efficiency.


Equipment & Inventory Management


• Assist with the issuance, distribution, and maintenance of athletic apparel and equipment.
• Ensure timely ordering and tracking of inventory to support athletic programs.
• Maintain an updated inventory of equipment, uniforms, and other necessary materials.
• Work with vendors to ensure proper receipt of orders and manage invoices for timely payments.
• Identify areas where resources can be optimized for cost-effectiveness.
Staff & Operations Support
• Provide guidance and training to student and part-time staff assisting with game-day and facility operations.
• Communicate operational expectations clearly to ensure smooth game-day execution.
• Assist in the development of operational manuals, checklists, and best practices for event management.
Work Environment & Schedule:
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for athletic events.
• Physically able to lift and transport equipment as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in facilities or equipment management, preferably in an athletics setting.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with coaches, staff, and vendors.
• Experience using inventory management software is a plus.
• Knowledge of NCAA and MEAC regulations is preferred.

Additional Considerations

• Bachelor’s degree in sports management, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
• Five years’ working experience in Division I college athletics department or conference office.
• Minimum five years’ experience in facility operations or game operations in a DI/II athletics program or Division I/II athletics program with football.
