Job Duties

Job Summary - The Deputy Clerk is assigned caseload processing and operational responsibilities in a high-volume office, including records management, cash processing and customer service to the public. Ensures court instructions are executed and legal documents are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with policies and procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Duties include but not limited to preparing and finalizing dockets, courtroom assignment, data entry, assess and receipt fines, costs, filing court documents, provide verbal and written responses to attorneys, judges, other criminal justice agencies and the public. The successful candidate will also prepare court orders, provide in-court coverage, and perform related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. Most competitive applicants will have some court, business or office related experience in clerical or secretarial positions with competence in office operations and procedures such as data entry, personal computer and working with software packages. The candidate must possess the ability to professionally interact with diverse customers, attorneys, law enforcement, various other agencies, and the general public. Must possess excellent verbal and written skills, be detailed oriented and have the skills to multitask.
