Job Duties
This role directly ties to VDH’s mission and vision to protect the health and promote the well-being of all people in Virginia as well as becoming the healthiest state in the nation. As the Vendor Manager, this position supports and oversees the delivery of Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program vendor services. The vendor services ensure WIC participants receive the benefits they need and that the authorized vendors provide a seamless service for participants to redeem benefits. These food benefits provide healthy, nutritious foods to our most vulnerable populations supporting improved nutrition and health. This position will support this goal through establishing collaborative plans and programs to improve population health, and by increasing the number of children and pregnant women with access to healthy and nutritional food. This is a federally required position for the WIC Program.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to supervise WIC Vendor Team staff, manage vendor authorization/reauthorization process, assess program needs, formulate plans and policies, provide oversight and management control for WIC EBT processing, infant formula rebate, compliance investigation services contract, and RFPs. Additionally, this position serves as the point of contact with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for all vendor related questions and requests.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with software packages, including Microsoft Office Program, with proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with developing program goals & evaluate program effectiveness
- Experience in design, development, implementation & evaluation of health programs
- Experience with leading and supervising multiple programs & a variety of complex tasks
- Experience with problem-solving & strategically plan
- Extensive experience with data analytics.
- Experience supervising a team.
Additional Considerations
- Experience in the public health sector.
- Familiarity with the WIC Program and federal regulations.
