Job Duties

This position will organize and provide administrative and operational direction to the Nottoway Campus Pharmacy Department to meet the needs of both Piedmont Geriatric Hospital and Virginia Center for Behavioral rehabilitation.
• Demonstrated ability to function as a department head involving management and administration of the Pharmacy Department
• Ability to perform psychopharmacology consults
• Demonstrated knowledge of patient co-morbidities on medication regimen reviews
• Knowledge regarding environment of care/infection control/blood borne pathogens
• Knowledge of principles of management
• Knowledge of standards and guidelines required by the accrediting agents and the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.

Minimum Qualifications

• A comprehensive knowledge of the operation of hospital pharmacy. Knowledge of the production of medications, compounding as pertains to the practice of pharmacy. The ability to train and supervise professional and non-professional staff. Good communication and management skills.
• Valid unrestricted license as a registered pharmacist by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
• Graduate with an appropriate earned degree for licensure.

Additional Considerations

• Pharm. D. preferred.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy (psychiatric hospital preferred).
• Supervisory experience preferred
