Job Duties

Provide basic barber services to the resident population in accordance with agency policy.

(Afternoon/Evening hours)

Minimum Qualifications

• Possess valid Virginia license as a cosmetologist
• Proficient technical skills in basic barber/grooming services and with barber tools.
• Ability to: identify existing or potential scalp problems; establish and maintain effective communication with residents, co-
workers and facility staff; and ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical computations to meet documentation
and reporting requirements
• Fundamental knowledge of the principles, practices, services and techniques unique to a therapeutic community
environment.
• Knowledge, skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing (prefer basic word processing and computer
skills)
• Ability to use good judgment
• Ability to perform duties at a fast pace with frequent change
• Ability to interact with other professionals from various disciplines
• Ability to administer CPR and First Aid
• Available to work alternate work schedules (evenings, weekends and holidays)

Additional Considerations

Previous experience in long-term care setting.
