Job Duties

This position performs administrative support functions associated with operational unit. Responsible for the accurate record keeping of an employee’s time usage and payroll submission; providing assistance to employees and managers/supervisors on leave policies and procedures; maintaining an automated leave system including shift differential, overtime, worker’s compensation, etc. Communicating to employees and supervisors on leave usage balances; greeting and responding to employees of the operational unit in person or by telephone; and preparing correspondence, such as memos, letters, and reports on leave usage. Completes leave audits. Utilization of information will be in accordance with HIPPA regulations regarding use limitations, disclosure and request of PHI.
-Demonstrated knowledge of state payroll and timekeeping policies and procedures.
-Familiar with Fair Labor Standards Act rules and regulations.
-Extensive knowledge and experience in administering time and attendance automation.
-Skill and experience in automated databases.
-Ability to interpret and apply related agency, department, and state policies and procedures, prepare reports independently, track and compile data.
-Demonstrate ability to communicate with all levels of staff, agency official, and the general public; communicate orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications

-Working knowledge of employee leave systems and usage; computer software applications; alphabetic, numeric and other filing systems; basic math and computations; and customer service techniques associated with working with a diversified population.
-Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing to all levels of personnel; to operate multiple computer software applications; compile, assemble and report sensitive information; and interpret policies.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel
