Look no further because New College Institute is hiring! Experience is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

New College Institute (NCI) is seeking an out-going individual with impressive communication and customer service skills to serve as a part-time customer service receptionist. This is a non-benefited hourly wage position with a maximum of 29 hours per week that works days, evenings and weekends as needed. This position serves as the first point of contact and works with students, faculty, staff, and visitors of NCI. The customer service receptionist performs customer service duties, provides administrative support, and provides security support. This position is also responsible for serving as a proctor for the testing center in our King Hall building. This job duty requires the ability to successfully complete an assessment annually for certification.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Customer Service
o Serves as the first point of contact to greet all guests, students, faculty and staff.
o Works with students, faculty, staff and visitors of New College Institute.
o Answers incoming phone calls, fields student inquiries, assists with student technology,
opens building, handles customer complaints, etc.
• Administrative Duties
o Assists NCI staff with projects.
o Prints and reviews daily NCI schedule of events and prepares for events/rentals as
needed.
o Assists with Testing Center and successfully completes testing center assessments
annually.
o Operates classroom and lecture hall technology and assists renters as needed.
o Assists with NCI events and lecture hall events.
• Security Support
o Requires all guests to sign-in when entering the building.
o Monitors security cameras.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possesses a positive, professional, student-focused mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Experience or ability to learn and communicate a wide range of basic information about
programs offered to diverse groups while following policies and protocols.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and
technology equipment.
• Must possess the ability to complete and pass an exam annually to continue certification to proctor for the testing center.
• Shift flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Additional Considerations

• Proven knowledge of office practices as well as proper English, spelling and grammar usage.
• A work history demonstrating considerable skills, knowledge, and experience performing
customer service functions.
• Experience working and communicating with diverse groups.
• Post-secondary education in technology and/or customer service training.
• Bilingual a plus.
