Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Taxation is seeking to hire multiple Collections Representatives to work in our Collections Unit. In this role, you will provide quality customer service while assisting Virginia businesses and taxpayers with tax compliance and the proper resolution of delinquent tax liabilities.
The Collections Representatives will manage taxpayers inquires through in-bound telephone calls in a production-oriented call center environment. These positions will assist taxpayers by researching accounts and fostering a positive customer experience.
These positions may progress from individual income tax to business taxes with an opportunity for in-person collections field work.
This position is located at our central office in Richmond, VA. It is a hybrid position with 2 telework days and 3 days in the office once fully trained. The hybrid schedule will be begin once in office training has been completed.
The anticipated hiring salary for this position is commensurate with experience up to $44,192.

Minimum Qualifications
• Call center experience and knowledge of call center etiquette
• Strong computer skills to include the use and navigation of multiple systems
• Microsoft Office experience to include basic troubleshooting of common computer software programs
• Basic math and the ability to analyze financial information, researching accounts, and determine the appropriate course of action for collecting
• Effective verbal and written communication and ability to speak with customers in a professional, courteous and tactful manner
Additional Considerations
• Progressive work experience in collections, customer service, banking, and or sales in a fast-paced call center environment
