We will be hiring to two (2) candidates for this position.

Job Duties

  • Primary responsibilities include: Leverage operational TEMS system, processes, reports and expertise to ensure governance and oversight of the TEMS Supplier as it relates to the ordering of telecommunications products and services. These functions include the processing of customer orders for telecommunications products and services, ensuring accuracy, availability of service, completeness and timely submission.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the TEMS Supplier.
  • Monitor order progress and serve as the SME and approver of service level agreements (SLAs) related to order processing timeframes.
  • Work with TEMS Supplier, internal and external stakeholders in support of system enhancements, process efficiencies, optimizations and analyses of operational results.
  • The Ordering Specialist will be expected to understand system requirements and associated business processes, as well as ensure the system data meets VITA’s various business needs for telecommunications ordering.
  • Create, deliver and/or manage delivery of training sessions, user groups or address direct questions from users globally as applicable.
  • Support the development and execution of both functional and integrated test plans to validate any system or process changes or enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive experience ordering wireline and wireless telecommunication services via an order management system.
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia telecommunication procurement policies and contracts as well as SCC and FCC tariff rates and services.
  • Experience in using the North American telephone exchange lookup and how the use of NPA-NXX data can assist with determining the vendor in a specified area.
  • Must be detail oriented, work independently within established guidelines and able to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • An analytic aptitude, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products and excellent communication skills are preferred.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience working with any Telecommunications Expense Management (TEM) system.
