Job Duties
The Office of Human Resources is seeking a Classification and Compensation Specialist to join our team! The incumbent will provide specialized support to hiring managers, HR staff, and operational staff agency wide on position classification and compensation practices. Researches and reviews position classifications for Employee Work Profiles (EWPs) and provides accurate and thorough analysis and documentation of position classification designations and changes to ensure compliance with policy. Designs and prepares reports to summarize compensation data and analysis and provides information to support various pay action transactions. Maintains Intranet EWP library and ensures that all current and updated EWPs are communicated and accessible to agency staff. Communicates clearly and collaborates with agency staff to provide information and support on classification and compensation related requests. Assists with large classification and compensation projects as requested, including but not limited to career planning and agency wide reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
-Knowledge and experience applying human resource policies and principles;
especially in the areas of compensation analysis, position assessment, and
policy interpretation.
-Knowledge and experience performing position assessment and interpreting
compensation data.
-Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on professional grammar, accuracy, and attention to detail.
-Experience gathering and interpreting information and data, and providing written analysis to communicate findings with others.
-Experience utilizing a spreadsheet program to gather, combine, manipulate, and analyze data.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion.
Additional Considerations
-Knowledge of DHRM Human Resource policies and procedures.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
