Are you detail-oriented, skilled in data processing, and interested in auditing? The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a motivated, service-focused professional to join our team at the Gate City Customer Service Center as a Part-Time (Wage) Customer Service Technician.
What You’ll Do:

Perform detailed liability audits on work processed in our Customer Service Centers to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Use automated systems to analyze transaction data, identify critical errors, and report findings to management.

Maintain precise records of audit results through automated forms, helping the team address issues efficiently.

Process customer transactions, including vehicle registrations, titling, tax collections, and ID issuance.

Administer driving, vision, and written tests while providing exceptional customer support.

Interpret and apply state and federal DMV regulations consistently.

Worked with multiple computer systems, handling cash, processing credit cards, and document verification.

Participate in ongoing training to enhance your auditing, data processing, and customer service expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

Proven experience or interest in data processing and entry, along with beginning-level auditing or quality control.

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors and inconsistencies.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Valid Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record (under 6 demerit points, no major violations).

Comfortable lifting up to 25 pounds and working as part of a team.

Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday as scheduled.
Additional Considerations:

Experience with auditing workflows or transaction reviews.

Familiarity with state or federal regulatory requirements.

Background in customer service roles with complex data handling.
