Job Duties

To provide quality psychiatric services to residents with psychiatric impairments. To provide supervision to Psychiatry Nurse. To work with the Medical and Clinical team in a collaborative manner in providing optimal psychiatric services to residents at VCBR.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of psychiatry; demonstrated ability and skill in diagnosis and treatment of residents with developmental disabilities and psychiatric impairments; working knowledge of psychotropic medications and monitoring for side effects in residents with developmental disabilities and psychiatric impairments; facilitates therapeutic groups; have the ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Additional Considerations

Experience treating residents with a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
Experience working in a secure facility.
