To employ and develop Virginians who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf/blind to achieve their desired level of employment through the manufacture and delivery of quality products and services.
We are seeking a Driver/Receiver - Norfolk to perform the following duties as assigned:
- Perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with receiving incoming shipments of merchandise.
- Provide timely, courteous delivery of goods as needed to customers.
- Responsibilities may also include:
- Forklift operation and material movement,
- Computer operation,
- Providing customer service,
- Stocking warehouse shelves,
- and other duties in support of the operation of the Ship Store.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to operate up to a 25ft Box Truck.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Familiarity with internet, Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to perform duties independently without direct supervision.
- Ability to repeatedly and frequently lift up to 50 pounds and stand up to 8 hours.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack/ forklift.
Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by supervisor.
Additional Considerations
- General warehousing, delivery service and/or retail experience.
Special Instructions:
- Must be able to pass a DOD criminal background check required for access to the military base.
