Job Duties
- Manages and performs all interlibrary loan operations for the library, including
processing ILL requests for students, faculty, staff, and other libraries.
- Processes borrowing and lending requests for physical and digital information resources
such as books, articles, and media according to library procedures.
- Utilizes OCLC WorldShare and Tipasa ILL management system to create, manage,
track and process interlibrary loan requests.
- Provides document delivery services to students, faculty, and staff using physical and
digital information resources from the library.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail, including letters and packages, involving
interlibrary loan transactions through approved carriers such as USPS and UPS.
- Maintains collaborative and engaged relations with library vendors, consortium partners,
and other entities essential to ILL operations.
- Compiles and reports monthly and annual statistics about interlibrary loan transactions
for the Dean of Library Services and State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
- Recommends policies and procedures for effective management and operation of
interlibrary loan services.
- Participates in staffing the library’s Information Services Desk during various daytime,
evening, and weekend work shifts.

- Ability to collaborate with others and work as a part of a team.
Additional Considerations
- A bachelor's degree.
- Experience working in academic libraries.
- Experience using OCLC WorldShare ILL and Tipasa.
